Lisa Reichstein, MSW, is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social worker, psychotherapist and life coach with a private practice located near Brown University, in Providence, Rhode Island. For over 15 years, she has been helping clients to get unstuck from their stuck places, to better manage life transitions, and to feel better about themselves. She coaches clients to have more satisfying relationships and feel more peaceful about where they are in life.
One specialty of Lisa’s is counseling and coaching singles who feel discouraged around dating or who are having trouble finding and/or maintaining healthy relationships. Now happily married, Lisa spent many years as a discouraged single in her 20’s and 30’s, and has both empathy and advice for the single person who is longing to be partnered. She helps clients feel better about themselves by building self-confidence, shedding negative beliefs and breaking free from repeated unhealthy patterns.
Another specialty is helping people grieve current or old losses, whether from a break up, divorce or death. Lisa can help you feel better, get unstuck, and move your life forward.
Lisa also offers assistance around life tranistions, whether you are a recent college grad trying to figure out what you want to do with your life, mid-career and thinking about a career change, or transitioning towards retirement.
Lisa has a Masters degree in Social Work from Salem State University, Salem, MA and is an LICSW, (licensed independent clinical social worker). She has trained extensively in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy) and has found it an enormously valuable tool for helping her clients reach their goals. She began her EMDR training with psychologist Dr. Laurel Parnell, PHD, in 2007.
EMDR is a highly effective, evidence-based therapy for issues related to traumatic experiences and negative beliefs about oneself. EMDR has been shown to be an effective therapy for treating PTSD as well as anxiety disorders, including social anxiety and phobias like the fear of flying or driving. The World Health Organization recommends EMDR as a highly effective therapy for the treatment of PTSD.
